Our planning fees typically range from $650–$995+, depending on the length and complexity of your trip. That fee covers the time, research, expertise and personalized attention that goes into creating your trip: the initial consultation, your custom itinerary, booking assistance, unlimited revisions, and support through your return home.

Your planning fee is separate from the actual cost of your travel. Flights, hotels, transportation, tours, activities and other trip expenses are charged directly to your credit card, so you’ll always be able to see exactly what each component of your trip costs. There are no hidden markups added to your travel costs.

Because every trip is different, we’ll discuss your planning fee upfront, so you know exactly what to expect before we get started. No cookie-cutter itineraries here: every Travel 2Borders trip is designed around you, your travel style, your priorities and your budget.

No. Everything is charged at cost, on your own card. Flights are booked directly with the airline rather than through a third-party reseller, so if anything changes you’re dealing with the airline itself. When a supplier pays us a commission, it is paid after you travel and never affects the price you pay. There are no added markups or hidden costs.

The planning fee is agreed on the first call, before any work starts. Once your itinerary is confirmed we send a secure credit card authorization form and a traveler information form, and use those to make the reservations on your behalf. Every travel cost lands on your own card, so you can see each line for what it is.

We plan customized travel worldwide. The destinations shown on the site are examples rather than limits, so tell us where you’re dreaming of and we’ll match you with the planner on our team whose experience best fits it.

6 to 12 months ahead is ideal, depending on the destination and the time of year. Some destinations and peak travel periods benefit from planning even earlier. We can often work with shorter timelines too, subject to availability, so it’s always worth asking.

A day-by-day itinerary with every flight, room, train, transfer and reservation confirmed and attached, in one document that lives on your phone. We revise it as many times as needed before it’s final.

As many as it takes. The first draft usually arrives within 7–10 business days, and from there we keep refining it against your feedback until the trip is right. Revisions are part of the flat fee, so there’s no meter running.

Not at all. Most of our clients are elsewhere in the US, and the whole process works by phone, video call and email. Our planners work from several states. If you are local to Portland, we’re always glad to meet in person instead.

You can reach our team on WhatsApp or email, and if it’s something we can assist with remotely we’ll do our best to help. Certain situations, such as last-minute airline disruptions or changes that have to be handled directly with a supplier, may need to be addressed with the airline, hotel or provider while you’re traveling.

Yes. Our official travel insurance partner is Allianz Travel Insurance, and if you’d like coverage for your trip, we’ll happily provide you with a quote. We’ll also talk you through what to look for, given your destination and the parts of your trip that aren’t refundable.

Usually, yes. Bring what you’ve booked to the first call and we’ll plan the rest of the trip around it. Anything you booked yourself stays yours to manage, so we’ll be clear about which parts of the trip we can help with if something changes.
