Every school and district works a little differently. We'll walk through your requirements before anything is booked.
Your school or district remains responsible for its students and its own policies while traveling. Travel 2Borders handles the travel side, including reservations, transportation coordination and assistance with travel disruptions, so your staff can stay focused on the students. We'll also work with your administration before booking to understand any specific requirements your school has.
Families can pay Travel 2Borders directly according to an agreed payment schedule. We track payments and balances, so teachers aren't collecting checks or maintaining payment spreadsheets. Before enrollment opens, we'll provide the school with the pricing, deposit requirements, payment dates and cancellation terms so everyone knows what to expect.
It depends on when they cancel and which parts of the trip have already been booked. Airlines, hotels, tours and other suppliers have their own cancellation policies, and some costs may become nonrefundable as the trip gets closer. We provide the cancellation terms before families commit and can discuss travel insurance options for the group.
Yes. Budget is one of the first things we discuss. We build the itinerary around your school's priorities and target per-student cost, then show you where different choices can raise or lower the price. Our goal isn't to squeeze a prebuilt trip into your budget. It's to build the right trip around it.
Absolutely. We can provide clear trip information for families and join your parent meeting to walk through the itinerary, travel logistics, payment schedule and what students should expect. Parents can ask us travel-specific questions directly instead of leaving the teacher to answer everything.
Your group has direct access to our team for travel-related problems during the trip. If a flight changes, transportation falls through or a reservation needs attention, we're there to help resolve it. For destinations such as Japan, we also work with trusted local contacts and, when possible, have members of our own team in country.
Ideally, 12–18 months before departure, especially for international travel or larger groups. Starting early gives us more options for flights, accommodations and activities and gives families more time to spread out payments. Have less time? Ask us. We've built successful trips on shorter timelines too.
Yes. Our official travel insurance partner is Allianz Travel Insurance, and we'll happily provide a quote for your group or for individual families. Coverage, exclusions and eligibility vary by policy, so we recommend reviewing the plan details carefully before purchasing.
